How study schedule calculator Works

The sizing math

Study days = days remaining โˆ’ planned days off. Total hours = study days ร— daily hours. Per-topic hours = total รท topics. The feasibility verdict reads the per-topic number: under 1 hour per topic means triage (prioritize weak, high-weight topics), 1โ€“2 is tight but workable, 2+ allows the review passes that make learning stick.

The 1-3-7 spacing rule

Memory research favors expanding intervals: first pass today, review tomorrow (1 day), again at 3 days, again at 7. Each review is shorter โ€” 25โ€“50% of the original session. The rule turns "8 topics" into "8 topics plus three diminishing review waves," which the schedule must budget โ€” that is why comfortable plans use ~70% of hours for first passes.

The last three days

  • No new material. New topics in the final 72 hours compete with consolidation.
  • Practice exams and error review โ€” the highest-value hours of the entire schedule.
  • Sleep is study: consolidation happens asleep; the 3 a.m. cram trades tomorrow's recall for tonight's anxiety.
